Her Name is Calla + Transitional
The Man on the Moon
| Arguably the hottest post-rock band in the UK at the moment, Her Name is Calla have received much high praise from many quarters. Epic, long-journeyed tracks build to stunning crescendos. Support comes from electronic/guitar-driven post-rock/metal duo Transitional, who sound not a million miles from Jesu (and indeed contain a touring member of that very band!). Other bands TBC.

"What Doesn't Kill Us...it kills verily!" 8/10 - Metal Hammer
"Bitter, brooding and bloody brilliant!" 4/5 - The Sun
4/5 - Guitarist
Stronger Together tour 2007 reviews:
"not many show a passion and enthusiam onstage to match this experienced and highly talented posse" 9/10 - Rock Sound
KKKK - Kerrang!
Download 2007 review:
"Panic Cell are fiercer and sharper than ever, powering through hook laden, guitar driven slabs of no-nonsense metal from their forthcoming album before the classic 'Save Me' has the masses in full swing. Panic Cell embody why homegrown metal just won't die off in the face of overblown, over-hyped fads and in a packed Tuborg tent they do it in style." - Skiddle.com |

| Panic Cell are now arguably the UK's foremost thrash/metalcore outfit. Their second album, 'What Doesn't Kill Us', has recently been released to many excellent reviews and along with their much lauded recent tour to support the release of that album they are now riding the crest of a wave which will surely bring them even bigger and better things. Includes support from Speed Theory + Smokescreen and Gamarra. Tickets available from WeGotTickets.com.

Tokyo Dragons + Chasing Black Aces
The Barfly
| Tokyo dragons have been described as “faithful heirs to the glorious tradition of old school ‘70s hard rock”. Too right. Fittingly hirsute, with twin lead guitars they take rock‘n’roll back to its roots – unadulterated and uncluttered rawk with simple lyricism allowing magnificent plucks and screaming riffs to take precedence

The Rotted (formerly Gorerotted) - MAY BRAWL
The Man on the Moon
| Having left behind a name (Gorerotted) that had become synonymous with the highest quality of extreme metal The Rotted pick up the mantle of one of the fore-runners of the UK extreme metal scene for the past 10 years. Gone are the ‘gore’ image and lyrics that Gorerotted purveyed so well and they are replaced by a more ‘personal’ approach to the music, so the band can now really spread its wings and cause the musical carnage they have always wanted. Founded in 1998 and drawing influences from not only 1990’s death metal and grind but also punk and hardcore Gorerotted had always sought to push the boundaries of what can seem an otherwise rather restricted genre. Having released material on the highly influential Relapse Records both their previous release and the new album, ‘Get Dead or Die Trying’, are on the legendary Metal Blade Records.Expect a schizophrenic hybrid of extreme metal and punk hardcore violence, riddled with a melancholic darkness and cynical humour that spits in the face of life itself.
Main support band will be Centurion’s Ghost, who originated as a doom band in the vein of Candlemass but have since drawn in influences from bands such as Celtic Frost (“...have produced a golden and ‘great work’, 9/10 Terrorizer; “Awesome British Steel”, KKKK Kerrang).
Death-core outfit Burning Skies and local cyber-gore grind band Malignant Germ Infestation complete the bill.

Soulfly
The Junction
"Upon his exit from Sepultura in late 1996, singer/guitarist/songwriter Max Cavalera almost automatically set out to form his next musical endeavor, the ultra-heavy Soulfly. Besides leaving one of the most popular heavy metal bands in the world, which he co-founded in the early '80s, he also had to deal with the unsolved murder of Dana Wells, his stepson and best friend. Using music as therapy to overcome his depression, Cavalera put together a band that included Roy "Rata" Mayorga on drums (ex-Thorn), Jackson Bandeira on second guitar (ex-Chico Science), while former Sepultura roadie Marcello D. Rapp rounded out the quartet on bass.
Their self-titled debut album was released in the spring of 1998. Besides fronting Soulfly, Cavalera has branched out into other areas usually not associated with heavy metal musicians. He became a much-sought-after speaker at music conventions, as evidenced by his appearances at CMJ's New Music Marathon in New York and Holland's Crossing Boarder Festival, both in late 1997. He also guested on Deftones' breakthrough album Around the Fur, and signed on to sing a TV commercial for Sprite in his native land of Brazil.
Soulfly's second album, Primitive, was released in the fall of 2000. The album was met with a split reaction, and Cavalera found himself the object of criticism from factions of his fanbase. The heavy amount of guest appearances and preference towards nu-metal lyrics were the main complaints, but Cavalera maintained his pride in his work and kept going, hitting the road and touring behind the album. He handled the production for 2002's III, and Soulfly returned again in 2004 with Prophecy. A year later Roadrunner reissued their self-titled first album as part of the label's 25th anniversary celebration. Then, in October, Soulfly's fifth album Dark Ages appeared in October 2005. Keeping with his style of switching up the lineup, Cavalera was backed this time out by bassist Bobby Burns, guitarist Marc Rizzo (ex-Ill Nino), and drummer Joe Nunez, who had previously played on Primitive." Greg Prato, All Music Guide |
| Max Cavalera, ex-Sepultura songwriter/frontman, brings his tribe to Cambridge to support the release of their sixth album.
Support from local southern-rock outfit General Lee and Federal Black 40.
