MINUTES
31/01/00

The meeting was called to order at approximately
quarter to nine; all were present.
1. Last weeks things.
- There is no chance of a late licence for the
F&F due to a dead retired judge living next door to it.
- The "trip to LA" will be looked into.

2. TCS review of WUS.
It was suggested that TCS (The Cambridge Student)
be invited to the next WUS, as they had reviewed the Q-Club Indie Night
in their last issue. All agreed that any publicity would probably be good
publicity and also that it was the job of the president to invite them.
15/2/00 was suggested as a possible date.

3. College Rock Nights.
The one last Saturday in Clare Cellars was considered
a great success and it was agreed to try and have more, should the opportunity
arise and to try and get a discount for Rocksoc members.

4. Website/URLs.
La Presidenta was reminded of her impending encounter
with Oli's big metal pole, if it was not sorted out. The Secretary was
reminded that *he* had agreed to sort out the URL thing.
As the above had all fitted onto one side of
notepaper and no silly quotes had yet been recorded, Kit remarked that:
"[Oli was] suddenly behaving himself and writing less". So there it ended.

5. Senior Treasurer.
The Secretary was told to pester Dr Greaves again.
The WUS Officer said something about "more to drink" and this was written
down looking very much like "move to drink". There was much laughter.

6. Move to The Alma.
It was agreed that this should be an AGM decision
(but not a prolonged debate), rather than a committee decision. This would
also mean that if a move were decided, it would be in the AGM minutes and
not require a separate mailing. It would become effective from next term
to give people plenty of notice. A map is to be put on the website and
a 'trial evening' arranged sometime before the AGM so people can see what
it is actually like and be able to vote sensibly. Jinx then made an inquiry
as to whether there were any cider-drinkers in Rocksoc and if they would
be catered for. The cider-drinker in front of him answered.

7. Email from The Monkey Steals The Drum.
It was decided that we should listen to the samples
of this 'rock, grunge,(possibly pop)' band before deciding what to do with
them.

8. Unilever £5000 competition.
It was agreed that we should ask members to come
up with suggestions (preferably not involving Iron Maiden). We might get
round to it.

The meeting was closed at the wonderfully palindromic
time of 2112.
