Minutes of RockSoc committee meeting, 20th March 2003.

Meeting opened: 8:45pm

1). Minutes

Minutes for previous meeting need approval. Minutes not available to be approved, but approved nonetheless.

 

2). Treasurer.

-Accounts transferred to new treasurer

-Oli: need chequebook, and mandate transferred to new committee.

-Treasurers report: “We have money”, but owe Elizabeth £150

-Previous gig report: transactions for bands =£250. Total loss=£120

-Need to transfer account signatures from old committee to new.

-Need financial report from the Mulch gig for next meeting.

 

3). WUS.

-Richard needs to hassle Ben for “stuff”.

-Fliers: Print more and distribute to ROCSOC members, pubs and other places/people.

-Find out date of the midsummer fair week so we can plan for WUS cancellation.

-Richard is currently sorting out WUS website stuff.

 

4). Gigs.

-18th May (Sunday). Man on the Moon.

-May Brawl: Graduate

-Open till 1am

-£110

-PA and lighting provided by venue

-No entertainments license

-Thoughts on providing some food?

-Check that this date does not clash with any Saturday balls, however, this may not be of little significance

-Earth Shock tour: Boat Race

-17th October (Friday)

-Aimed/organized specifically for university rock societies.

-Three bands (small up and coming bands): Emma needs to find out more details about these bands.

-Cost: £200 for tour management

£100 for Boat Race

£100 for publicity

£70 on rider.

Total cost: £475

 

5). Bands

-For 18th May: EAD

-Emma to get in touch with these bands

-Michaelmas term possible bands: Fire and Forget

Pretty Vacant

Electric Warriors

 

 

6). Handover of committee.

-In transit.

-Catherine needs to collect Secretary materials, next Wed.

-Catherine needs to send everyone a list of contact numbers.

 

7). Bat walk

- Social event organized/run by Cambridge bat society

- Possible donations from partakers

- Post onto “official”
