MINUTES

14/02/00

 

The meeting was called to order at 2047. Everyone

was present, and things returned to normal following the previous weeks

shenanigans - Oli was back in his note taking & agenda making position

and Kit was once again La Presidenta.

1. Elitist/Cliquey Rocksoc?

It was further discussed how to promote other

Rocksoc events [than WUS], which were not as popular as they had been.

The committee is to make an effort to increase attendance at such events.

It was also suggested that the 'rocksoc-announce' mailing list is not publicised

enough, especially to new members.

 

2. Trip to LA (yet again).

We were informed that "work & babies" had

led to us missing out (at least for this term). Oh well.

 

3. Trial evening at The Alma.

This was agreed upon and a date set for next Saturday

(19/2/00). Members would be able to evaluate the pub themselves in a Rocksocish

atmosphere. It was pointed out that the committee should talk to the landlord

before moving the Monday meeting there as it was rumoured that he may be

trying to organise a cocktail night on Mondays.

 

4. The Monkey Steals The Drum.

It was agreed that the samples were not really

long enough to tell whether or not we liked them and they seemed to be

on the softer side of rock anyway. We may get round to asking for some

whole samples.

 

5. T-shirts.

These have still not been found and it looks like

they never will be. We need some new ones anyway and the membership will

be asked to come up with suggestions.

 

 

The meeting was closed at 2108. All the above
