MINUTES

05/06/00

 

Present: Oli, Baz, Kit, Andy, Iain, Gina

(later).

The meeting was commenced at 2147 when Andy announced

that it was seven years to the day that Metallica played Milton Keynes

Bowl with Megadeth.

1/ PUBLICITY FOR THE MAY BRAWL

Andy expressed some concern that we don't appear

to have sold that many tickets so far. It was agreed to try harder with

the publicity - Baz said he'd post on the Terrorizer Forum and spam announce

again, and it was agreed to really push sales at the next WUS (though it

was acknowledged that there probably wouldn't be that many people there).

Oli promised to get in touch with the Portland Arms to confirm that the

venue is still OK (following the Maiden Night fiasco). Oli commented that

"It wouldn't be good not to have a venue". No shit Sherlock.

 

2/ T-SHIRTS

Oli said that he'd pick these up from the printers

before the next WUS so that we'd be able to sell them there,

 

3/ LETTER TO THE FRESHER AND FIRKIN

Baz had drafted a letter of complaint to be sent

to the Fresher and Firkin concerning the Maiden Night last Monday. Kit

decided that it was basically OK but she would rework it and get it ready

for the next Committee Meeting for inspection before it gets sent off.

 

4/ BAZ TO REMAIN IN THE PUB

There was a general feeling of discontent concerning

Baz's consistent inability to remain in the pub till closing time. This

appeared to have been exacerbated by the equally consistent appearance

of that week's minutes before the pub closed. Baz pleaded Natsci exams

but a vote was taken and it was decided (unanimously) that Baz is to remain

in the pub till closing time following all Committee Meetings starting

the week of 12/07/00.

The meeting was closed at 2102.
