MINUTES

12/02/01

 

 

Present: Andy, Jimmer, Oli and Gina.

Apologies Baz, Roz, Liz

The meeting opened sometime after 8.45.

1/ AGM

To be held at Trinity Hall Lecture Theatre for the 7th March from 8pm

til midnight. Flyers are to be sent out this week and Jimmer is going

to get them to Baz by Wednesday.

2/ MONDAY NIGHT MEETINGS

...are to be axed after Liz's birthday next week with the committee

meeting to take place on Thursdays in future. Someone (Oli?) is going

to look into having the details on the CUSU website updated.

3/ THE HELL HOLE

The first night was very successful with about 70 people turning up.

Although most flyers had been distributed eventually it seemed that

most publicity had been by word of mouth. The next Hell Hole should be

on March 8th (to be confirmed by Andy).

4/ BEER

Oli and Roz to look into the possibility of acquiring a crate of (eg)

Hobgoblin to sell at the AGM. Reporting back next week at which point

we will see whether it is feasible.

5/ ROZ TO OBLITERATE ALL TRACE OF MONDAY

...from the website and to put the details of the AGM up.

6/ PUBLICITY OFFICER

Whether or not we need one is probably a matter best discussed at the

AGM. The same may also apply to other posts apart from President,

Secretary and Treasurer.

7/ JIMMER CHOKES ON HIS BEER

"No one is to put David Gray on the juke box"

8/ ACCOUNTS

It was suggested that the accounts could be checked with the Senior

Treasurer before being handed over from one Junior Treasurer to the

next. To avoid any confusion next year as happened this year. It may

be possible to add a clause in the Consitution to this effect. Oli is

to check with Dr Greaves before we do anything about the idea.

9/ COMMITTEE GUIDELINES

These are to be drawn up to ensure that future committees don't repeat

mistakes made by previous ones and to keep in the archive as a part of

the Rock Soc history.

10/ WUS

A second Paying In Book is to be obtained from the bank to make it

easier for the WUS Officer to pay in takings after every WUS.

With the success of the Hell Hole it is envisioned that there will be

less slots at WUS playing that type of music leaving more slots for

alternative stuff.
