Subject: MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 15/03/01

Present: Oli, Baz, Andy, Gina. The meeting was started at 2110 when Baz

finally turned up. This was to be the last meeting of the present

committee.

 

1/ THE HELL HOLE

 

Roger does not think that 'The Hell Hole' is a good name for our Thursday

commercial rock night. This doesn't come as much of a surprise as we

didn't really think much of it in the first place, but had no better

suggestions. No-one in the pub seemed to have any serious suggestions

which were any good, so Andy said he'd e-mail official to ask for some

more suggestions from the membership.

 

2/ TCS / VARSITY / CEN SUPPLEMENT

 

Baz said he'd get on to all of these about getting Rocksoc events

regularly featured on their listings pages. He said that he might have to

ring them up or e-mail six or seven times a day, as he'd been in touch

before with no joy. Iain said that this had been his tactic last year. It

was agreed that Baz should try and get someone to come along and review

WUS / The Hell Hole in the near future.

 

3/ PAYING-IN BOOK

 

Andy now has his own paying-in book for the bank, and is going to pay WUS

money in regularly. It was suggested that a fortnight is plenty of time to

get to a bank, and if the money were paid in this regularly, fewer large

discrepancies would have to be sorted out by the Treasurer. Liz is going

to look into the possibility of getting a card that allows paying-in and

getting statements, but NOT withdrawals.

 

4/ EASTER

 

Baz and Andy are going to talk about sorting out the May Brawl, and the

finances and hand-over will be sorted out early next term.

 

The meeting was closed at 2128, and Baz went home happy in the knowledge

that he won't have to take any more committee meeting minutes ever!
