Subject: MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 10/5/2001

Present: Andy, Andy, Emma, Elisabeth, Oli. The meeting started at about

9.00

 

1/ May Brawl

We need to get a venue sorted out. AndyH to email the Boat Race, AndyM to

talk to the Man in the Moon, Emma to talk to the Portland Arms, all

tomorrow. Man in the Moon will probably be the first choice if we can get

it on a suitable night because the Portland's very small, but we might not

get big enough crowds at the Boat Race. Apart from those already

mentioned, possible bands suggested were Faces of Sarah, Dark Cell, and

Brutal Deluxe. As soon as a venue and date are confirmed, we need to get

in touch with everyone who's expressed an interest and find out who's

available.

 

2/ Finances.

Liz and Emma are to arrange a meeting with the Senior Treasurer to

officially hand over the books.

 

3/ Bedouin - 18/5/01

This is now completely organised, and tickets can be got from Andy. There

are several other gigs on at the Boat Race beforehand with a similar

audience, which we want to target with fliers.

 

4/ Advertising.

AndyM is to get in touch with the local and student papers to try and get

them to advertise upcoming events.

 

5/ Constitution Changes.

There was lots and lots of discussion about the change to the constitution,

but no definite wording has been come up with. As soon the committee

proposal has been finalised it will be posted to announce and can then be

torn to shreds.

 

And we all got very bored of discussing policy and went to play pool at

about 9.40
