Minutes: 2001-2002/2001-06-21
MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 21/6/01
Present: The secretary forgot to write it down, and it's now too long ago
to remember…
Meeting started at 9.30
1/ Freshers' Gig.
Andy M will speak to people from APU and try and book the venue for this
gig.
2/ Vacation meetings.
It was decided that throughout the summer we'll have meetings as and when
we need them, since there's a lot less to do than in term-time.
And that was about all we had to say so we went and played pool.
*****
There were indeed meetings in the vacation, but either we weren't quorate,
so I didn't take minutes, or I lost them afterwards (sorry). It was
almost entirely about the Fresher's gig and attempts to find a venue and
decide on bands, so the final result of all the nitpicking ends up in the
minutes from tuesday:-

MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING 2/10/01
Present: Emma, Tristan, Jason, Andy M, Elise.
Meeting started at 8.15 after Jason's phone finally stopped ringing.
1/ Web Stuff
The site needs to be updated ASAP with details of events over the next few
weeks, because lots of freshers were directed to it at the fair.
2/ Upcoming Events
Planned so far are;
15/10/01 Request night at the Alma (same setup as the ones we used to
have) with a drinks promotion.
16/10/01 Live classic rock covers by Two Sheds Jackson and Slingshot at
the Sophbeck Sessions.
25/10/01 FreshFest at the Boat Race - the billing is now Absolute
headlining, supported by Dark Cell, Horndog (tbc), and Vae Solis, aiming
for 30 minute sets for the first two bands and 45 minutes for the later
two. Doors at 6.45, Vae Solis starting at 7.00.
3/ Other events to be organised.
Andy M to phone the Boat Race tomorrow to find out about free dates in
November and January
We've been asked to try and find a venue for the 3rd of November for
Enchanted and Coldblooded to play. Suggestions of King's Cellars, Clare's
Cellars or Chad's Octogon were made, so these venues need to be contacted.
4/ APU relations.
Some of the members from APU are in the process of setting up a society
there to promote us to their students. They're going to have someone come
to the committee meetings in an unofficial capacity, and depending on how
it goes it might be made official at the next AGM.
5/ Committee meetings
The meetings are going to be changed back to Mondays, which is generally
more convenient, and stops Andy H having an excuse to skive off once a
month.
Meeting closed at 9.00
