Apologies for some of these being rather late.

 

MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 17/11/01

 

Present: Emma, AndyM, Jason, Elise, Ann, Jester

 

Meeting opened at 9.15

 

1. Accounts

Emma has spoken to the Senior Treasurer, and he needs a few more details

but in general made positive comments. Now that all the WUS money has

been paid in we have loads of cash which really needs spending.

 

2. Spending all this money.

Suggestions of ways to do this were subsidising more trips to gigs and

events outside Cambridge and organising some gigs with bigger names.

 

3. Oli suggested that the mailing lists should have the name of the list

should have the name added to the subject header and everyone agreed this

would be a good idea.

MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 4/12/01

 

Present: Emma, AndyM, Jason, Elise,

 

Meeting opened at 10.30

 

1. WUS

We've not heard from AndyH regarding a new venue for WUS. AndyM has

spoken to the Sophbeck Sessions which has a capacity of 180 and would be

affordable but doesn't have ideal licensing hours.

Toxic8 might be a possibility as it has two seperate floors so the Calling

could run there together every week.

 

2. The Sophbeck Sessions are now putting on gigs and charging half the

takings rather than a flat fee, which may reduce the cost to us if we used

it.

 

3. Jay has spoken to someone at Cambridge Rock Radio who has agreed to

help out with the Q if possible. AndyM to go and see him tommorrow.

MINUTES OF ROCKSOC COMMITTEE MEETING 11/12/01

 

Present: AndyH, AndyM, Elise, Jester, Patrick, GrahamC

 

1. WUS

The Kambar are happy for us to have WUS and the Calling on alternate

Tuesdays as before. They've agreed to us doing the door ourselves, and

essentially we've got the same deal as we had with Roger. It costs more

than the Q, so the price will have to be raised to £2/£3. The first WUS

will be 29th January and will be free entry. AndyM to make some flyers

for this, and contact Ad Hoc so it's in their listings.

 

2. Gig on 12th January.

The bands Patrick had been talking to about this have pulled out, so we

need to get someone else in. Jester to speak to Viagra Falls, Elise to

speak to Pretty Vacant.
