Minutes of the RockSoc Committee Meeting
20th February 2002
Present: Baz, Oliver, Elizabeth, Ben, Jester
Meeting opened: 2049

1) Minutes for approval
No one could be bothered to say anything about the minutes, or indeed about anything else much this week, except 'How long is it to the AGM?'. No one objected to them, so let's assume that they are approved.

2) Treasurer's report
In this item, the word 'tomorrow' figured a lot, being various things will apparently occur, including the Events Officer paying in the monay from the gig, the Treasurer finding out the financial situation, a report on the exact loss made by the gig, the obtaining of the mandate etc. etc. etc. Several other things probably needed to be said, but the Secretary couldn't be bothered to minute them. Not that the committee is becoming apathetic as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

3) AGM
Emma still needs to pay the graduate the deposit for this, and the Secretary still needs to organise the postal voting, put the nominations on -official and write the agenda. . Not that the committee is becoming apathetic as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

On a positive note, it appears that we have managed to assemble sufficient people to form a full committee (still no token kiddie, but never mind). Jester said that he wanted to stand for token fogey again, and Catherine Durance, who previously wanted to be token fogey, agreed to be Secretary instead, so the committee is now potentially complete.

4) March Gig
The committee agreed that this was' ongoing'. . Not that the committee is becoming apathetic as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

It was mentioned that Jack's Family play violins.

5) February gig report
Most of us were there. It happened. There were no salad and cheese related incidents.

Drunken attempts to count the money on the night, suggested that the door take was jolly good, mostly because about 10 5th formers from Ernulf School in St Neots turned up. Fortunately they didn't join the Society, which is good, as it is probably better that they don't see how often Mrs Watts uses the word 'Fuck' in the minutes.
We think we lost about L44 all together on the gig. About that. A proper report will follow. . Not that the committee is becoming apathetic as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

6) May gig
Emma was phoned and said that the reason this hadn't been booked is that Stan was away until Wednesday.

7) Maybrawl
This was stated to be ongoing.

8) WUS
It was noted that Terrorizer obviously find the expression 'alternated Tuesdays' too difficult, and thus decided the print the info that WUS occurred every Tuesday. Baz has warned the Calling about this, and the committee hopes in a vague sort of way that a poster might get put up on the door of the Kambar explaining the 'alternating' bit. Maybe. . Not that the committee is becoming apathetic as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

Pity that Terrorizer managed to lose the listing for the March gig which was in the same e-mail as WUS.

The WUS officer was asked if he had anything else to say about WUS. He said 'It's quite good actually'.

He then reported that Andy Cairns might be Djing at the King's thing after the AGM if he ahs survived the shoot for his latest video without becoming too hung over.

9) Webshite
The chair said 'next item'

10) Oli's alternative agenda if applicable
The char said 'next' again. Ben objected and said that he wanted to talk about seating. Baz told him to shut up.

At this point Oli sent a text message to the meeting saying that he didn't think he would be coming out today. This occasioned some hilarity by those who chose to interpret the expression 'coming out' in a way other than Oli meant it. Oliver said that 'realistically, he is already out', and then attempted to propose a motion that Oli rape some sheep. The Chair refused to accept the motion.

Not that the committee is taking its responsibilities less than seriously as the end of its term of office approaches or anything............

11) The committee recommends
Mulch
Danzig
Bowling for Soup (Baz tried to refuse to accept this, but was ignored)
Anaal Nathrak (and if that's spelt wrong, sod it)

The committee pointed out that it still did not recommend Zwan.

12) AOB
Baz said that there was no other business. Threateningly. No one proposed any other business so..

Meeting closed 2104
