RockSoc Minutes 30/10/06

Meeting opened 20:50

Committee Present: Simon, Nick B, Nick J, Gemma

1. Joint RockSoc/GothSoc/CUFS Christmas Party proposed by Doree.
Problems: It clashes with the Christmas quiz date, and is very close to other RockSoc

events.

Planning to use the Soul Tree as a venue as it has 3 floors so we could use 1 floor

for each society. GothSoc event so Doree is mostly organising. We don't mind

providing publicity, but we need to check that event is feasible.

Action: Organise meeting between people from all societies (Simon)

WUS

2. Nick J paid in £508 today.
Sorted for DJs tomorrow. WUS on the 14th needs a DJ for the last slot.

3. New posters needed.

Action: Simon to sort out new design.

4. Hallowe'en WUS pumpkin! Briggsy suggested going to Tesco's for Hallowe'en tack.

Action: Nick B to buy & carve & get tealights. Nick J to see about using glowstick

innards for spooky effect. Simon to get blu-tack and give to Nick J.

GIGS

4. Publicity is in hand. Doree has been informed about a possible joint

GothSoc/RockSoc gig.

5. Discussed the possibility of a student rock night to attract more studenty types.

Entry would be restricted to those with a Rock/GothSoc card or a student card.

However, this was put off till a later meeting/committee.

OTHER EVENTS

6. Christmas Quiz needs re-arranging due to point (1) but sort once we know what's

happening. Things to organise nearer the date - quizmaster, counter-upper, quiz

rounds.
